Villa Wedding on Lake Maggiore
One of the most requested wedding packages is undoubtedly a villa wedding on Lake Maggiore, Lake Como or Lake Orta in Northern Italy.
For Frank and Mirjam, their special day last summer was a dream come true – a wedding in Italy. And what a setting for it! Lake Maggiore provided the perfect choice for this couple from Switzerland, not only because of the lake’s spectacular scenery but also because the location was ideal for guests who were arriving from all over the world. Lying near Milan, which is home to three international airports – Malpensa, Linate and Milan Bergamo – Lake Maggiore offers an excellent infrastructure.
For their celebration, Mirjam and Frank chose an elegant villa with a lake view, in a location close to Stresa. The villa’s idyllic garden has a boat dock and overlooks the beautiful Lake Maggiore, and provided the perfect backdrop for some stunning photos.
The couple decided to have an open-air civil ceremony for their marriage at this beautiful location, choosing to add their own personalised elements. For example, the best man prepared a moving speech for the couple which he made before the wedding took place. The civil ceremony was conducted by a friendly registrar from a nearby village on Lake Maggiore.

The marriage service was followed by a wedding reception, the highlight of which was a delicious wedding breakfast served in beautifully decorated surroundings overlooking the lake. Rustic benches and masses of white roses set the scene while atmospheric lanterns added an extra touch. Around 60 guests were treated to an exclusive menu with catering from Milan. This included an aperitif and a meal of several courses while an open bar kept guests refreshed until late at night.
Frank and Mirjam also had a stunning wedding cake which they cut in front of the beautifully lit villa. Later, a decorated candy bar was set up in one of the villa’s rooms to round off the catering in style.
The evening was brought to a perfect conclusion with the help of a live band. With no time limit for the celebrations, the bridal couple and their guests could continue dancing late into the night – a perfect way to end a special day that Frank, Mirjam and their guests will remember forever.
