The villas and wedding locations in Valpolicella are characterized by a mix of traditional Venetian and Italian rustic architectural styles. Many of the historic properties were built in the Renaissance or Baroque style and impress with magnificent facades, generous columns, elegant arches and romantic gardens.
The proximity to the romantic city of Verona – the setting of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” – and Lake Garda allows wedding guests to combine their stay with sightseeing or relaxing days by the water. Jenny and Hansi wanted to celebrate their love in a place that offers an experience for them and their guests. They chose a magnificent villa in Valpolicella, surrounded by vineyards and with a breathtaking view of the landscape. With 60 guests, almost 40 of whom were accommodated nearby, their wedding weekend began with a welcome dinner the evening before the ceremony – a wonderful opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the Italian lifestyle.
Free wedding ceremony in a dream setting
On the wedding day, the guests gathered in the garden of the villa, where the free wedding ceremony took place. The setting: a romantic wedding arch in an enchanting Italian garden. The free ceremony, led by a wedding officiant, touched all guests.
Aperitif and live music
After the ceremony, an aperitif awaited the guests in the garden of the villa. Regional delicacies such as bruschetta, prosciutto and fresh buffalo mozzarella were served under shady awnings – accompanied by local wines and a refreshing Aperol Spritz. A live band provided the background music and gave the atmosphere a relaxed elegance.
Culinary highlights at dinner
In the evening, the celebration was moved to the villa’s courtyard, where long tables were set for dinner under a sky of fairy lights. The menu was a tribute to Italian cuisine:
- First course: homemade pasta with seasonal pesto and fresh tomatoes.
- Second course: creamy risotto with Amarone, the region’s famous wine.
- Main course: tender beef fillet with rosemary potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables.
To finish, there was a dolce buffet with tiramisu, panna cotta and small cannoli before the wedding cake – an elegant millefoglie – was cut together.
Party under the stars
At around 10 p.m., Jenny and Hansi opened the dance floor with their first dance before the open bar and the wedding party began. With cocktails, good music and a lively atmosphere, the bride and groom and guests celebrated until the early hours of the morning.
